A facility is seeking a cardiothoracic surgeon for locum tenens coverage.
The facility is located outside of Portsmouth, Virginia.
The credentialing timeframe for this facility is between 90 to 120 days, and it utilizes an electronic medical record (EMR) system. The schedule is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Required duties and procedures include a variety of surgeries: for aortic surgery, descending aortic aneurysms are necessary; for coronary artery bypass surgery, procedures such as CABG, redo coronary revascularization (with or without heart valve surgery), and arterial revascularization using internal mammary arteries, radial artery, and gastroepiploic artery are needed. Additionally, thoracic endoscopy procedures include flexible and rigid bronchoscopy, thoracotomy lung resections, pneumonectomy, chest wall resection and reconstruction, and mediastinal surgery. Finally, vascular surgery procedures involve heart valve repair/replacement, heart valve replacement without surgery using the CoreValve System, and mitral valve repair.
