Description
Amazon is looking for a talented utility player to develop pricing strategies, build import and export risk management solutions, support controllership, anticipate problems, think critically, and flexibly apply a broad skillset for international business expansions. You will help Amazon Customs + Trade (ACT) mitigate risk on business launches from the prototype phase of new products and technology through global launch. You will work directly with business, legal, logistics, supply chain, tax, transfer pricing, finance, and engineering teams, Amazon’s global network of trade and compliance teams, and a variety of external Amazon partners. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to prioritize multiple deliverables, passionate about data and Seller Experience, and has excellent business acumen and communication skills. Key job responsibilities
– Work closely with product team and key stakeholders to own key features and processes for improving finance, risk, and compliance goals.
– Actively seek ways to improve product related process efficiencies and effectiveness.
– Proactively identify gaps or blockers to seller experience, propose solutions, and drive implementation across partner teams.
– Communicate updates on key strategic programs and metrics to leaders and stakeholders
A day in the life
– working with business partners to understand their cross-border launch roadmaps and associated impact to Amazon
– breakdown the business requirements and draft cross-border compliance requirements
– determine resource requirements and plan to support business launches
– work with internal business and operational partners to build launch implementation plan and execute against it
– highlight any project risks, build mitigation plans and align with leadership and stakeholders as needed
– provide visibility into launch roadmaps, operational planning to leadership via Amazon documents, flash reports and project plans
About the team
In this role, no two days will be the same. Amazon Customs + Trade has a scrappy startup mentality, backed by the Amazon name. As we expand our reach into new geographies, you’ll primarily spend your time defining and delivering against strategic goals, leading brainstorming sessions, attending meetings, writing collaboratively, or working independently. You’ll also have some tactical responsibilities, with an aim to automate or offload that as your program matures. You’ll have peers who are willing to partner and knowledge share, as well as leaders who are supportive and experienced Amazonians.
Basic Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field
– 1+ years of supply chain or trade compliance experience
– Advanced experience with Excel
– Experience driving worldwide, cross-functional, end to end projects independently
– Ability to use data to assess risk and impact and analyze trade-offs
– Effective communicator and collaborative team player, skilled at translating business needs into actionable and results-driven initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
– Bilingual
– Business experience outside the US
– Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
– Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
– Consistently demonstrates sound judgment and takes action even in highly ambiguous situations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
